Miss McKye B.A. and The Last Day of Lent Term

Miss McKye was educated in Scotland and as part of her final studies has been sent to the School . She has to a large part been taught by a close friend of the Headmaster .

On the last afternoon of Lent Term the Headmaster was drawn to Miss McKye's classroom by the unmistakable sounds of leather striking flesh .He found both Andrews ( a prefect in his last year ) and Thompson ( also in her final year ) placed across their teachers desk , both backsides showed crosshatched marks from the Scottish tawse in Miss McKye's hand . They had come to this position as by way of being caught with Andrew's hand down the front of Thompson's tunic , there had been no effort to escape on her part .

At the Assembly that day the Headmaster had congratulated the School on the " Adult Manner in which they had approached the trial of coeducational classes at the School , which had so far been without incident " .

The Headmaster was not ,to say the least , pleased . Miss McKye was left to carry on with the offenders , all were told to be in the Headmaster's Study in 15 minutes time ,at 4 pm and the tawse was to accompany them .

Miss McKye entered the study whilst the others were left to reflect upon their fate for a while longer ( the Headmaster has found that this technique considerably increases the effectiveness of his punishments ) . Miss McKye was also there to be told in no uncertain terms that she may only chastise pupils under the close supervision of a senior staff member .She was further told that this indiscretion would have to be reported to the Board of Governors . The conversation was suspended at that point to bring Andrews and Thompson in so they too could receive the benefit of the Headmaster's displeasure .

It is the Headmasters practice to deliver a long lecture before a thrashing , on this occasion the guilty were only reminded of his words at the days Assembly .

Andrews was told to remove his coat and place the Prefects badge on the desk , as he would have no further use for it .He was then directed to to side of the lounge and told to lower his trousers and drawers ( the two others being invited to look out the window as this preparation and positioning over the arm of the lounge was carried out ) . The heaviest of the Senior School canes was selected and held where the first blow was to land , to " Are you ready boy " the reply was a feeble " Yes Sir " which had to be repeated at a more audible level . The following six strokes considerably marked Andrews , who thinking his ordeal over , started to shakily rise . He almost collapsed when the words " You are not finished boy " came to his ears .His offence was regarded as being worse than the other " Prevalent Offences " and no allowance was to be made for Miss McKye's punishment .This announcement also took the colour from Thompson's face .Andrews then received his final six strokes , each taking the air out of his lungs .

Thompson replaced Andrews , her protestations " That I have never been caned before " were unanswered and now inaccurate as the fist stroke left its mark . She was expertly caned with each of the following five strokes finding its own discrete place on her backside .The Headmaster had made no allowance for her sex and she was well marked and in tears .As Andrews had received additional punishment for his part the Headmaster was determined that Thompson would not be let off , despite his opinion that she was not capable of receiving a further six strokes . This dilemma was solved with the placement of the girl over his knee .The spanking soon produced howls which were as loud as those elicited by the cane and continued for some time .

Andrews and Thompson were then sent forth to reflect on their misdeeds .

The somewhat tall and dark haired Miss Mckye was in a reflective mood following the impressive use of the cane and hand which she had just witnessed . In particular , she had never seen such a thorough spanking , something was at work inside her and she had to concentrate as the Headmaster reopened their previous conversation .He was displeased because she had taken it upon herself to punish the two with an unauthorised strap and to make matters worse ,had not been supervised . He knew that the Board of Governors would not accept her behaviour and made this clear to her .He reflected on the situation and suggested that some of the Governors may be swayed if she could show contrition and that she had received counselling from the Headmaster .There had been precedent over the years and a few students had escaped expulsion .The evidence of contrition took the form of a formal written apology to the Board but there was a concern with the counselling as this invariably involved a beating ,( although this was never directly referred to in proceedings ) .

Miss McKye had thought that this may have been in the wind when she was told to bring the tawse to the study and had already subconsciously accepted her fate .Her only question was " How " , to which she was invited to raise her skirt and lie across the desk . The Headmaster then demonstrated the use of the Junior and Senior straps finishing with the tawse , to serve as a comparison .Her strapping was good but bearable , although the word " contrition " kept crossing her mind . To his advice that she may get up , Miss McKye asked for the cane as this was rarely used in Scotland and that its use would advance her cause with the Board . She received no mercy from the cane and was just as heavily marked as Thompson .At least her atonement was now complete in a physical sense .

This should have concluded this unfortunate incident , but Miss McKye could not get Thompson's spanking out of her mind , the thought turned her stomach and she quickly not only admitted to this feeling but , in the strongest terms ,asked to be spanked there and then . The Headmaster ,who has some experience of non discipline punishment , complied with this request with his usual determination to the extent that Miss McKye could hardly talk when he was finished .

Upon the return of the Headmaster to his home , his wife was informed of the days proceedings . She liked to extract every detail possible and made a note to invite Miss McKye for afternoon tea .Later that night she waited in bed with her hairbrush , as it would be needed after she told him of her summons to attend the Magistrates Court for another speeding offence .

The last day of Lent term was now almost over .
